Samara is three years in to teaching a bunch of sixth grade hooligans, and she wouldn't change her career for all the money in the world. She is daughter, a sister, an aunt—and truly a pal and a confidante.
Samara met Delia when they became roommates in college; there, she thrived as a Resident Assistant and Vice President of Activities, and smashed her collegiate career by not only receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Teacher Education in 2017, but also the school's highest honor: the prestigious Kendal E. Burke Memorial Award.
She loves anything that brings her together with people, especially in the virtual world of today. She spends most of her time learning, playing with her new kitten, O'Malley, FaceTiming friends, and socially distant walking with her best friend Sherry. She is currently working toward her Master's Degree, and looks forward to teaching a new group of 11 and 12 year olds in the fall.
DELIASHAY XZAMORA NEGRETE
Delia is many things -- a non-binary pal, a funcle to the coolest nieces around, a nerdy geek (or maybe a geeky nerd?), a lover of Vincent Van Gogh and Lin-Manuel Miranda, an avid supporter of fruit-based desserts -- but most famously, Delia is a longtime passenger on the Struggle Bus.
Delia studied Music Industry in college (where the magic of their friendship with Samara first began), with a focus in Audio Engineering, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. They moved to Nashville with the intent of staying for a minimum of 3-5 years to pursue a career in the music tech world. That, unsurprisingly, didn't work out at all, so they moved back home after 9 months in favor of chasing a dream of educating the future generations as a high school social sciences teacher.
In these here endtimes, Delia is enjoying working on podcasts, crafting beverages at a coffee shop, and pretending they know how to be an adult.
